Nowruz is a traditional celebration and it literally translates to new day.

NOWRUZ is the persian new year and it celebrates with the beginning of spring. The celebration begins at exact moment of the spring, when the sun passes above the equator, when the day and night are the same length. This usually happens on the 20th or 21th of March, and it marks as the first day of Persian calendar.
Few days before NOWRUZ, Iranian will start with KHONEH TEKONI, which literally translates to shaking the house (spring cleaning).
NOWRUZ table, in Iran known as HAFTSIN or seven Ss, is a table setting with seven symbolic items on it starting with the letter S. However there are other items on this table that do not start with S, like: Quran, Mirror, Fish, Painted eggs, Coin and Candle.
HAFTSIN
1) Sabzeh (grass): Made with wheat or lentils, and it represent new life.

2) Samanu (Samanoo): Represent justice and power.

3) Seeb (Apple): Represnet health and beauty.

4) Senjed (sea-buckthorn): Represent love.

5) Seer (Garlic): Represent good health.

6) Somagh (sumac): A persian spice that represent sun rise, and light overcoming darkness.

7) Serkeh (Vinegar) : Represent Patience.

This year, NOWRUZ, marks the year of 1397 on Iranian calendar, which is equal to 2018. However that NOWRUZ has a history of more than 3000 years, but hundreds of years ago, the government changed the date to 1300 and they counted it since that date.
